Also, Washington voters failed to pass the country's first carbon tax, probably as a result of folks making the perfect the enemy of the good, though, and not because people in Washington don't support some kind of mitigation of carbon footprint. Washington still has a fairly environment-focused administration, however, and there's no reason to assume that Jay Inslee and Bob Ferguson, both of whom were handily re-elected and both of whom have made the environment a key focus of their administrations, will discontinue the work they've started.
